Roomie — Terms of Use

Effective date: July 19, 2026

Welcome to Roomie. These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and the operator of Roomie (“Roomie”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the Roomie app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. What Roomie is (and is not)

Roomie is a free app that helps people find rooms and roommates. Users can publish room listings, browse listings on a map, view profiles, and contact listers directly by phone.

Roomie is only a platform that connects people. We are not a real estate broker, agent, or landlord. We are not a party to any conversation, viewing, agreement, or rental contract between users. Any arrangement you make with another user is strictly between you and them.

2. No verification — use your own judgment

We do not verify the identity of users, the accuracy of listings, the ownership of properties, or the truth of profile information or endorsements. Anyone can create an account and post content. Before making any commitment:

• Meet in person and view the room before paying anything.
• Never transfer money to hold a room you have not seen.
• Verify that the person you are dealing with actually has the right to rent out the property.
• Trust your instincts, and use the in-app report and block features if something feels wrong.

You use Roomie, and meet people through it, at your own risk.

3. Who can use Roomie

You must be at least 18 years old to use Roomie. By creating an account, you confirm that you are 18 or older and legally able to enter into this agreement.

4. Your account

• Provide accurate information when you sign up and keep it up to date.
• You are responsible for everything that happens under your account. Keep your login credentials private.
• One account per person. Do not create an account for someone else or impersonate anyone.
• You can delete your account at any time from within the app. Deleting your account removes your profile and content as described in our Privacy Policy.

5. Your content

“Content” means anything you post on Roomie: listings, photos, profile details, lifestyle information, endorsements, and reports.

• You own your content. By posting it, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and distribute it within the app, for as long as it remains posted, solely to operate and promote the service.
• You are responsible for your content. Only post photos you took or have permission to use. Only list rooms you genuinely have the right to offer. Do not post other people’s personal information without their consent.
• Endorsements must reflect a genuine experience living with the person you endorse.

6. Rules of conduct

You agree not to:

• Post fake, misleading, or duplicate listings, or listings for properties you have no right to rent out.
• Use Roomie to scam, defraud, spam, or harass anyone.
• Discriminate against or abuse other users, including in listings, profiles, or phone contact made through the app.
• Post content that is illegal, threatening, hateful, pornographic, or that infringes anyone’s rights.
• Use the app for any commercial purpose other than listing a room you offer (no agencies, brokers, or advertising without our written permission).
• Collect or scrape data about users or listings, or access the app by automated means.
• Interfere with the app’s operation or attempt to bypass its security.

7. Reporting, blocking, and enforcement

The app includes tools to report listings or users and to block users. We may review reports and, at our discretion, remove content, restrict features, or suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms — with or without notice. We may also remove any content or account where we believe it is necessary to protect users or comply with the law.

8. Phone contact between users

Contact between users happens by direct phone call, outside the app. When you publish a listing, the phone number you attach to it is visible to users who view the listing — publish it only if you agree to that. We are not responsible for any communication between users.

9. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect and how we use it. It forms part of these Terms.

10. The service is provided “as is”

Roomie is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the app will be available, error-free, or secure, or that listings are accurate, lawful, or safe. We may change, suspend, or discontinue the app (or any part of it) at any time.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Roomie and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss of money, property, housing, or data, arising from your use of the app or from any interaction, agreement, or dispute between users — even if we were advised of the possibility of such damages.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

12. Indemnity

If a third party brings a claim against us because of content you posted or your breach of these Terms, you agree to compensate us for resulting damages, losses, and reasonable expenses.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you in the app or by other reasonable means before the changes take effect. Continuing to use Roomie after the changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, and the competent courts in Israel will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute relating to them.
